PROJECTS

Migrations and integrations

I lead the client engagement side of projects to integrate clients from 2 companies into one. This included migrating clients to new systems and updating internal systems to reflect the new clients. I oversaw the engagement of a 15+ internal teams that engaged the 1k clients that need to be migrated. This large undertaking proceeded smoothly under my leadership.

Time Study

A time study project I instigated and managed resulted in a 30% cycle time reduction of the task we were evaluating. Planning this project start to finish gave me the opportunity to be creative and utilize my specific skillset on a project as a professional in my field. It was also an exercise in effective communication as I had to collect lots of data and user input both before and after the time study.

Process Improvement

One of the areas I really excel at is process improvement and I have completed numerous projects in this area. Some of the projects have been to create new processes and process documentation, from scratch, which is always a challenge but one I thoroughly enjoy. So I am well versed in all aspects of process development and advancement.

Automation

I was the project manager on Agile based automation project using UI Path to computerize ticket creation. The completion of this project reduced the workload by more than half. As the PM I had to balance working on multiple tasks simultaneously and making sure to keep the team stayed on task and up to date with deadlines.

WORK EXPERIENCE

My Career

Fiserv

Project Manager

I was brought on to a failing project a Fiserv that needed significant structure with no plan for how to create or enact that structure. Being quickly thrown into the deep end I proved that I pick up on a new industry extremely quickly and was able to make forward progress even in the midst of chaos and confusion. This resulted in me leading all aspects of client engagement for a migration project with 1k clients. I was the primary connection between the clients and the technical department making the change with needs varying significantly for each client. I lead a team to engage hundreds of internal partners as we navigaged each client through the migration.

Cognizant

Tech Lead, Business Analyst

In my 5 years at Cognizant I gained a wide variety of experience in a consulting environment. I worked on both internal and client facing projects. My internal projects were focused on process improvement and helping various departments within Cognizant run more efficiently. The client facing projects ranged from helping a large grocery retailer roll out a new recall program they had created to improving the functionality of a support team that ran 24hrs a day and supported thousands of EBT, WIC, and similar programs across the country.

Engineering Co-Op

To continue on my path for achieving excellence I opted to take a semester off college and gain more real world experience in a role directly related to my degree. Nalco had recently undergone a merger and was looking to optimize various aspects of both their chemical warehouse and loading/unloading docks. I was given some small projects to start with and then tasked with undertaking a project of my own creation and implementation. At the end of my time at Nalco this project and its results were presented to upper management of the newly merged companies, who hailed it a resounding success.

Engineering Intern

I began working at Raytheon, a large US defense contractor, the summer after I graduated high school. I returned each subsequent summer in an intern/co-op capacity until 2012, learning a different component each year about the details of manufacturing military and commercial electronics. Not only was I selected for their competitive program even before starting college, I proved I was successful at adapting to new environments and was asked to return each year based on the glowing reports from coworkers and managers.

PROFICIENCIES

Technical Translator

I have a unique skill for helping convey technical jargon, often presented in unfamiliar terms, to business partners in a way that does not lose the value of the technical information but can be understood by a lay-man. I can also perform this translation in the reverse, helping a technical team to understand why a business decision was made and how it impacts various technical situations.

Processes and Efficiency

Possibly my favorite skill would be by knack for being able to see the most efficient way to complete a wide variety of tasks. I absolutely love working with processes, be it creating them, documenting them, or improving them. It is always a challenge to see if i can make something better than what previously existed.

Client Engagement and Communication

I have put a lot of effort into improving my communication skills. Both in ways that help me relay information to others and tactics for helping me better understand an unfamiliar perspective. This skill has been particularly relevant in two areas; engaging with clients and various aspects of teaching (eg: helping coworkers learn a new process, helping someone understand complicated/foreign information, getting buy-in from key stakeholders)
